Polish News: ILNP Holiday Collection pre-order

Hey dears! It’s the start of another weekend!! Hope your week has been going well so far (:

Anyways, just thought I’ll share this with all of you! The ILNP Holiday Collection is here and if I had money….I would be splurging my money on these babies without a second thought. *drools*. I shan’t keep you all from viewing these gorgeous creations, so on to the email I received this morning! 😀

Finally! It’s time!

The ILNP Holiday Collection is here and it’s nothing short of spectacular! This small but beautiful 3 polish collection is absolutely perfect for holiday fanatics like myself!

In the collection you’ll find two gorgeous and mega festive holographic polishes along with a jaw-dropping NEW Ultra Chrome!

Be sure to pre-order the polishes you want EARLY so that I can get them shipped to you ASAP! I want to make sure all of you are able to enjoy them during the holidays!

I won’t keep you too long: Click here to visit the ILNP shop

A Fresh Evergreen

A Fresh Evergreen is a crisp, forest green colored polish packed with holographic sparkle. It took a few tricks to keep the green this deep and saturated with this amount of holo… but I pulled it off and I love it! It’s absolutely perfect for the season!

Very Ornamental

Very Ornamental is a lusciously vibrant crimson red polish loaded with holographic sparkle and a precise touch of effect pigments. The end result is a festive and sultry red that will dance on your fingertips!

This is the brand new Ultra Chrome that everyone’s been waiting for! Nostalgia is an AMAZINGLY INTENSE color shifting polish. Expect to see greens, golds, and reds (and everything in between) at every turn!

The mirror finish of this polish is astounding and it practically glows on your hands it’s so vibrant.

WARNING: This polish is SEVERELY distracting. This is no joke. You will find yourself constantly staring at your nails (drive safe people) and you WILL be interrupted a few times a day, mid-conversation, with questions about how your nails are “doing that.”

Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂

The swatches below are of the SAME polish (different models) taken at different angles under different lighting.

I hope you love the new collection… until next time!

You’ve all been amazingly supportive and encouraging over the last year and a half. You all have no idea how much every little comment, “like”, and even criticism has helped me push forward with ILNP. So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

I’m going to make absolutely sure 2014 is full of fantastic polishes and wonderful surprises 🙂

A huge thank you to ChrissyAi and XOXO Alexis Leigh for their last minute help with swatches! Please be sure to check out their blogs for more!

If you need anything or have any questions, feel free to contact me by replying to this email or sending an email to support@ilnp.com!

-Barbra 🙂

Just look at those gorgeous pretties. I figure you all will need to break out your wallets and run over to ILNP’s shop before it all sells out! Sometimes I wish I stayed in the States just to save on shipping costs ):

Lucky 13 Lacquer- Stupid Starfish

Hey dears! It’s almost Friday!

Today I have a polish from Lucky 13 Lacquer, which is a US-based indie polish brand run by Kyoti, and I discovered her gorgeous polishes thanks to the swatches from Mishka of Accio Lacquer.

and today’s polish I have is none other than…

Stupid Starfish for your viewing pleasure.

Before we continue, I will like to apologize for that awful bubbling in my top coat. Sigh. ): Doesn’t do this gorgeous polish any justice at all.

Stupid Starfish has a clear base with a mix of pink stars and squares, purple hexes and squares, and greyish-green hexagons. This is two coats dabbed over Polished by KPT Plumeria and Molybdenum. Both of my undies were two coats, and they are thermals.

Obviously I went trigger happy at the transformation process. I was honestly quite surprised and how much I liked the look of Stupid Starfish over Molybdenum. Sort of has a much more, grunge feel?

IMG_7590 cold state.

Stupid Starfish did have a slightly goopy base for my bottle, but that was easily fixed by sparing application and wiping off the brush at the edge of the bottle. I also suspended my bottle for a few minutes in order to get out the stars. No other issues with this polish. (:

I purchased a mini sized bottle as I started to grow smart and purchase glitter polishes in smaller quantities. I never seem to be able to finish a full-sized glitter polish, especially it is meant for layering!

I’m also sad to say that I’ve never watched Spongebob Squarepants, which is the show this polish is inspired by(namely Patrick the Starfish.)

Nonetheless, this polish makes me go:

I do think it’s a unique mix of colours, and star and square shaped glitter? Yes please.

Update: Also, I can’t seem to find this polish anymore on the website, so I’m not sure if it has been discontinued ):

Say Goodbye to a Sober Day with some clowns

*Purchased By Me

Hey dears, apologies for such a long absence…I’m popping in a quick blog post before I head back to doing school work! Most of my assignments are due next week so it’s a rush D: However, I’ve managed to get some swatching and nail art done(yay!) so this blog can be kept alive hehe.~

I initially did this combination for a pair of earrings for our shop, Little Rain Designs (which will be listed soon) and liked the look. I thus decided to recreate it on my nails!

Here I have 2 coats of Docile D218 with 1 and a half (dabbed) coats of Gloss ‘n Sparkle Goodbye Sober Day. The base polish is this shimmering silver, and I picked it up in Sasa, which I guess can be considered a drugstore with a section of cheap polishes. I’ve honestly never heard of the brand before but the packaging and colours looked nice- and it was on a promotion of buy 2 get 1 free- so obviously I couldn’t resist. 😀

Goodbye Sober Day reminded me so much of clowns that’s why I decided to pair the entire thing with a clown for my accent nail. Love.

Honestly I’m not a huge fan of clowns myself…but I guess movies do that for you: taking an innocent childhood symbol and creating it into something creepy. :S

I’m not a fan of horror movies at all though so I’m not sure why I feel this way.

Anyhoo~ The way Docile D218 sparkles and shimmers is simply beautiful. It’s a nice polish to go-to if I’m feeling more “toned down”. Also, please forgive the difference in nail lengths…my index nail was flaking so I chopped it off to be much shorter than its fellow buddies.

FFC Florals ♥

*Purchased By Me

Hey lovelies! Today I have my current nail of the day(or rather nail of the week) to show you guys. This was inspired by Sarah of Chalkboard Nails’ Candy Florals manicure where she did a floral pattern to mimic the glitter in the polish!

This was actually Mani No. 2 for me when I sat down for some nail therapy. I actually wanted to try gradient triangle nails but that failed horribly…and in a way I’m glad they did cause I wouldn’t have come up with something so cute! Let’s move on to the photos(also featuring my recently trimmed nails cause I suffered two nail breaks on my left- aka swatching- hand).

I started off with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey before using my gel pens to create the florals, dots and leaves. The other nails were topped off with Femme Fatale Cosmetics Winter Hyacinth(one of my all-time favourite FFC polishes!! <3)

I’m holding a dried blue rose in my photos! Trying to jazz up my pictures and make them prettier/much more interesting to look at. (:

As I’m so proud of this manicure, more photos are necessary. (;

Everything was topped off with a thick coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat.

I just applied FFC Winter Hyacinth on my right hand for all nails!

Love how I managed to get out more of those diamonds/satin hex glitters. :3

I’ve previously reviewed Winter Hyacinth so check it out here!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics: Suspended Starlight

*Purchased By Me

Hey dears, it’s Monday again! Time flies by so insanely fast…:/ Hope the week has got off to a good start for everyone!

Today I have a continuation of my swatch of The Face Shop BK901, with an accent nail of Femme Fatale Cosmetics Suspended Starlight. Before I purchased BK901, I noticed the base colour and immediately thought of FFC Glinting Lodestone as I felt they would make a great pair! Turns out it makes good undies for Suspended Starlight too! (:

Suspended Starlight is described as ” a stunning mix of deep blues, navy and sparks of bright blue all in a sheer jelly navy base. Iridescent flashes and silver holo stars / moons complete the polish, perfect for adding a little starlit sky look to your nails 🙂 We recommend use over a dark blue/navy/black base. Suspended Starlight is part of our Christmas Trio. Each bottle is made to order using a 3-Free base!”

There was no issue with glitter application for Suspended Starlight– in fact, I had to ensure I did not get too much glitter onto my nails! Unfortunately it was quite tough to get out the moon and star shaped glitters; I only managed to get one moon glitter on my thumb. Nevertheless this is possibly due to me not suspending the bottle long enough.

It’s like a galaxy happening on my nails… ❤

I also really loved the subtle flashes coming from the undies, really helped to portray the idea of night sky!

IMG_6528 after 3 days of wear

As you can see, only my undies started having tip wear after around 3 days! I was also beginning to have urges to remove my nail polish, but I managed to resist and hold out for 5 days.

I should try swatching Suspended Starlight over a navy base too, I think this will bring out the black shard/black glitters nicely. (:

Suspended Starlight can be purchased from Femme Fatale Cosmetics(international shipping now available!) or any of their international distributors.

Yes I’m alive! + swatch & review of Polished by KPT thermals~

*Purchased By Me

Hey dears! Apologies for the long absence, university does that to you! I see we have new followers, and I’m so happy about that! Welcome everyone! ^^ ❤ For those who don’t know, I’m the other half of this blog- running it with Bethanie :3 Luckily she has been updating the blog daily cause she’s currently on holiday (although she’s starting her internship already!).

Okay enough chit-chat, I’m just popping in for this quick swatch and review of 2 of my beautiful thermals from Polished by KPT. Apologies in advance for the photos, I didn’t take these using my digital camera, but with my iphone 4. ><

Today I have Blue is Beautiful and Molybdenum for you.

First, Blue Is Beautiful. Photos show 3 thin coats by itself, top coated with Sally Hansen Mega Shine.

This polish is described as a “Dark blue scattered holo with a fading thermal effect and small blue glitters.” This is simply beautiful.

When in the warm state, which was what it was most of the time on me, it was a cornflower/grey colour. Gorgeous. :3 When cold, it turns blurple. The glitters are apparent in both states, but pops out so much more when cold! I had fun brushing my hands against icy cold drinks…^^

I did have some issue with the formula though, it was jelly-like, a bit thick so it took effort to get a nice application. Once I got the hang of it though, it was smooth-sailing. (:

Molybdenum is described as “pewter-like colour changes to a silvery chrome like finished when warm. ” Part of “The Transition Elements Volume I” collection as “in their natural state, the nail polishes mimic the colours of these elements, hence, the reason for their names.” Photos show 2 coats.

Oh my goodness. This polish is PEWTER-FUL.<3 It is like a gunmetal grey colour- I loved it in both states. Application was really easy for this one too, as compared to Blue Is Beautiful. Went on like buttah. Here, I’ve matched it with Happy Hands Nail Polish Afternoon Thunderstorms for my accent nail.

Managed to capture the transitioning effect!

Bottom line- I need moar thermals in my life! My friends were fascinated by my nails and would constantly hold up my hands to observe the colour change! Definitely a good conversational starter ^^

I purchased my polishes during a pre-order which Shoppe Eclecticco awhile back. Polished by KPT can be bought directly from their store(US only), or various other international retailers! (:

*P.S: the labels of the nail polish bottles are NOT waterproof- I found out the hard way and lost the pretty labels.. T~T

Indie polish love~

*Purchased By Me

Hey loves, been so busy that blogging has seriously taken a back seat for now! Also, there’s some personal changes which I have been thinking about and slowly taking steps to change in my life, so sorry about the small breaks in hearing from me! I’ve also neglected our polish jewellery shop but thankfully I have Bethanie to back me up!

Okay anyways~ Here’s a manicure which I wore sometime back in August! I really really love all the indie polishes..if only I had more money to purchase them heh! This features Femme Fatale Cosmetics Glinting Lodestone and Lacquer Lust Sky’s The Limit.

I think I used 2-3 thin coats of Sky’s The Limit and one lovely coat of Glinting Lodestone over Revlon Black Lingerie. It’s so pretty…:3 and I feel both polishes really go well together! ^^ No problems with any application, and I simply love the bottles. ❤

P1000403 copy

Glinting Lodestone is described as “a dark navy jelly full of teal, blue, green, purple and highlighted by flashes of orange. ” When I heard it was going to be discontinued, I immediately snapped mine up at Beauty So Fly with a couple other beauties. Have I ever mentioned that I want to “BUY ALL THE FEMME FATALE COSMETICS” ? :3

Sky’s The Limit is described as “a baby blue linear holo.” Been wanting this shade for ages, and managed to get mine from Shoppe Eclecticco during an offer!

Hopefully university will settle down soon(haha I’m kidding myself) but I’m having a really great time with all the people there! (: With luck I should be able to tend to the shop soon!

Happy Hands Nail Polish- Afternoon Thunderstorms

*Purchased By Me

Hey dears, TGIF! My week has been super busy with all the projects, so I’ve not been consistent in commenting on fellow bloggers’ lovely posts on the blogosphere! Anyways quick post today as I need to plan images for my creative photography class, as well as cross my fingers and hope that I’ll be able to borrow a DSLR! Wish me luck!

Today I have a swatch and review of Happy Hands Nail Polish- Afternoon Thunderstorms for you. This swatch was done awhile back so photos were taken with my iPhone.

Afternoon Thunderstorms is described as “a stormy gray jelly with small & medium black hexes and a strong red-gold shimmer, reminiscent of lightning strikes or sunlight peeking through rain clouds.”

The polish is exactly like the description, and I love the label. It’s also a square bottle- I’m loving this shape more and more! ^^

Look at the beautiful golden shimmer. :3

I initially was hesitant about purchasing Afternoon Thunderstorms as I wasn’t sure how grey polishes and my skin tone would mix. After staring for a long time at swatches by Chalkboard Nails, I went ahead and purchased it as Mei Mei’s Signatures was having a flash sale. I definitely have no regrets about this purchase as it matched perfectly with my skin! 😀

I used 2-3 thin coats if I recall correctly, and the hex glitters came out perfectly. It does dry with a bit of bumpy texture due to the glitters, but a nice coat of Seche Vite fixed that.

This speckled polish fits in nicely with my Illamasqua ones, and is my to-go shade when I crave some grey.

Happy Hands Nail Polish can be purchased here, and international customers can purchase from Harlow & Co, Mei Mei’s Signatures, Femme Fatale Cosmetics, Edgy Polish and Dazzled(opening soon). You can also keep up to date with products via Happy Hands Nail Polish’s Facebook page.

Gloss ‘n Sparkle – Goodbye Sober Day

*Purchased By Me

Hello lovelies! As I was looking through my computer folders and editing photos, I came across this manicure which was left sitting on its own! I posted this manicure sometime back on Instagram, but I haven’t blogged about it yet! This was during my nail break on my cinderella hand and when I decided to trim all my nails!

Today I have swatches and review of Gloss ‘n Sparkle Goodbye Sober Day.

Goodbye Sober Day is “a crazy mix of vibrant matte and metallic colors in a clear base, yellow, pink, orange, blue, green, turquoise and fuchsia, black and white, with heaps of hexes, sprinklings of dot shaped glitters, including large black circles, and white diamonds.” It looks fantastic over a variety of colors; here I’ve swatched it over H&M Peppermint Fusion.

This polish has the case of the brush picking up so many glitters at the same time! I did try to strategically push the glitters around so the smaller ones(or similar colours) would not stick together. (: No other issues to report with this polish!

I used 2 coats, the second one to get some larger glitters out onto my nail where I deemed fit! (:

I love this combination! 😀

On my right hand I did an accent nail using Zoya Miranda. I think the red glitters in Goodbye Sober Day complement this lovely textured polish! ^^

Goodbye Sober Day can be purchased from Gloss ‘n Sparkle’s etsy store  which ships only within Australia, but international customers can obtain this via Shoppe Eclecticco and Llarowe(:
