Christmas Jumper Nails with Zoya Elisa

*Purchased By Me

Hey everyone! I finally have the first Christmas manicure up on the blog today (: This was done using Zoya Elisa (obtained through the nail mail swap we had previously) and a white Uniball Signo gel pen. I was inspired by a couple of Christmas jumper nails after a search on google, and this manicure is sort of a mash together of all of them, as well as my own idea! So, without further ado, here are the nails~

I used a base of Zoya Elisa, a gorgeous red polish which a gorgeous shine. It has an almost chrome-like metallic finish and is perfect for Christmas! This polish is from Zoya’s Diva Collection for Fall 2012.

I then drew in the jumper patterns on each individual nail with my gel pen.

I rarely wear red nail polish on its own as they are a bit too bloody looking on me for my taste, but I loved this manicure so much that I decided to stop swatching and wear it as a full manicure! 😀

I thus added in a reindeer(with polka dots, which act as falling snow) on my thumb nail. I top coated everything when it was dry, but the red polish bled through, turning all the white parts, pink! ): I definitely preferred the stark white but I still rolled with it.

The reindeer was done freehand, as was all the other designs, and I simply followed a reindeer silhouette on google. Many of my friends were fascinated with my nails and they even thought the designs were nail decals!

I’m really happy with how the reindeer turned out. (: I had to draw it twice in order to achieve something I was satisfied with, but it was worth it. Also, the beauty of using gel pens is that it can be washed off with water before it dries so you don’t need to wipe off the entire base polish. ^^

Stay tuned for more Christmas manicures, and Happy Tuesday! ~

Peaceful Moons

Hey everyone! I am finally back with a post 🙂 I decided to continue on with the 31dc2013 even though I am a few months late, but its better late than never right? Haha!

Well the theme for Day 18 was Half Moons and I decided to try out some Watercolour Nails. I found out about this method when Chalkboard Nails did it for Day 7 of the challenge and I loved the effect! To me it felt like a mystical and enthralling spell…

The tutorial can be found on Beautygeeks and after watching it, this is what I came up with!

I only used two colours for this look: Topshop Airplane and Zoya Kimber. I specifically chose this two as they blended well together to give the effect of peaceful waters.

Trick or Treat! It’s Halloween Guest Post Week!|Pumpkins and Spiders! by Bethanie

Hey everyone 🙂  Couple of weeks ago, Xin Yu and I decided to do some Halloween manis and this is my take on it. To be honest, I have never celebrated Halloween before as it is not popular here, in Singapore. Nonetheless, I decided to attempt my first ever Halloween mani! ^_^

As usual, indecisive me took to the web first, to look for some inspiration! Personally, I like to see what others have created before and then add my own spins and twists to it. After admiring some awesome designs, I eventually fell in love with this mani done by Chelsea Queen

Image

She did an amazing job and even though I’m not as good as her, I tried my best and this is what I came up with!

Most of my designs are similar to hers but I decided to change the words on the pinkie. So instead of “Trick or Treat”, I wrote “Anyone there?” as it reminded me of a typical line in a horror film. 😛

31DC2013: Day 16- Tribal Print

Hey everyone! It is Day 16 of the 31DC2013 which means we are officially in the second half of the challenge. 😀 Today’s theme is Tribal Print and this is actually the first time I am attempting this theme, so pretty stoked. 🙂

I have seen some tribal mani that had different coloured bases and the patterns were done in black. I decided to alternate the colours so I used my sasatinnie black polish as a base and then applied my matte top coat from etude house (Help my finger collection!)

Right at the bottom of each nail, I placed one dot of Zoya America and the other dots were done using Zoya Kimber. The gold lines were drawn using my uniball signo pen. Using a toothpick, I drew the blue lines for my index, middle and pinkie fingers. The blue polish is also from sasatinnie. For my accent nail, I mixed Zoya America and OPI ski teal we drop to get a gorgeous dark purple, which I used to draw the lines. This is the finished look!

31DC2013: Day 13-Animal Print

Hello there! Sorry for not posting yesterday as I out doing my project :/ For day 13 of the 31DC2013, the theme was Animal Print. At first I was planning to use my leopard print mani but after some thought, I decided to switch to a nemo fish print instead!

My mani was based on this picture, which is available on this website.

Nemo-Fish

For this look, I used Zoya Thandie as my base colour and the white polish is from the brand sasatinnie. (which I purchased at sasa!) I then drew in the black lines with my 0.38 uniball signo pen.

31DC2013: Day 11- Polka dots

Hi there 🙂 It is day 11 of the 31DC2013 and the theme is Polka Dots! I wanted to do a mani for the #showusyourheart contest on instagram by ethereal_lacquer and mrslochness and I thought this would be a good opportunity to combine both themes into one look. (Btw my entry for the contest will be on our instagram!)

I alternated with OPI’s Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot and A Grape Fit for both the bases and dots. As for the hearts, I dotted them with Zoya America and this is the finished look! 🙂

31DC2013: day 9-Rainbow Nails!!!

Hi everyone 🙂 Day 9 of the 31DC2013 means that it’s time for some Rainbow Nails! When I read the theme, I immediately knew I wanted to do a rainbow cake mani so I went in search of some pretty pictures as inspiration. Among the many, I found this picture by AnisBakery super cute and easy to recreate on nails, so here it is! You can also check out the picture on the original website here 🙂

I tried to recreate this image on my middle finger but somehow it ended up looking not like a slice of cake (sorry about that!) :/ As for my index finger, I did some slices of cake and filled the rest with rainbow coloured polka dots. For my ring finger, it has swirls and my pinkie has lines of the different colours of the rainbow 😀

This is my rainbow nails!!

31DC2013: Day 8

Hi everyone 🙂 Today is day 8 of the 31dc2013 by Chalkboard Nails and the theme is Metallic Nails. I wanted to do a simple but cute look so I chose two of my pink metallic polishes! They are OPI A Rose at Dawn.. Broke by Noon and Zoya Kimber.

I applied two coats of Zoya on both my index and ring fingers and the other two fingers have two coats of OPI. For a little sparkle, I applied a glitter polish purchased from the Faceshop (SL211) on the bottom half of my middle finger. As for my ring finger, I applied a coat of Faceshop’s PP404 first then pasted triangles on (sticky tape!) before applying the Zoya. Once it dried I removed the triangles, applied top coat and DONE!

This is the finished look 😀

31DC2013: Day 1 & 3

Hello there! Today is officially Day 3 of the 31DC2013 by Chalkboard Nails and as I missed Day 1, I decided to combine Day 1 & 3 into one look. The theme for Day 1 was Red Nails and as Day 3 is Yellow Nails, I could only think of one thing: GRADIENT!! 😀

Well, I have tried attempting gradients a couple of times before but without satisfying results. Thus, I was a bit skeptical about doing this mani but I challenged myself and this is what happened!

Image     Image

I started with one coat of Zoya Thandie then sponged on Zoya America at the bottom, which is a bold red. (Btw I also received that from the nail swap and I am in LOVE!) I also dabbed on my yellow polish at the top and that was purchased from sasa. To finish it off, I used a matte top coat from the help my finger collection from etude house! 🙂

Well to be honest I am not 100% satisfied with the results but this is the best I have done so far! *pat on the back* Hope you gals liked it!

31DC2013: Day 2- Orange Nails

Hello everyone! This post was meant to be up yesterday but I couldn’t get it done earlier as I was pressed for time, sorry about that 🙂 (It’s already 2am here in Singapore!)

I mentioned previously that I was planning to do some reviews but I guess that will have to wait as I am planning to join Chalkboard Nails’ 31 day Challenge!!! 😀 😀 😀 (31DC2013). To check out more about the challenge, you can click here 😛 After Xin Yu joined the OMD Challenge back in July, I wanted to try it out for myself so when I saw this challenge on instagram earlier, I was smiling like a little girl on Christmas!!

I am a day late so I am planning to combine day 1 & 3 together into one look! As for Day 2, the theme is Orange Nails and this is my take on it!

Image   Image

I used two coats of Zoya Thandie, which is a bright orange with some silver shimmer. This was one of the polishes I received from our recent nail swap and I love it! As for the silver flowers, I drew them with my gelly roll metallic silver pen.

Hope you liked this look!
