Hello readers of Lacquered by Blue Vanilla!
First off I have to say that I’m very honoured to be invited by Xin Yu to do a guest post for this blog. I really love this blog from the start so it’s quite exciting that I’m posting on it! Big thanks to Xin Yu and Bethanie for having me here.
Today I want to share with you my halloween nails. I decided to choose Dracula as my inspiration here.

To create this look, I used Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear – Bamboo Shoot (light nude colour), Sally Hansen¬†Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear –¬†Brick Wall (dark red), OPI – I Only Date Werewolves (black), OPI – He’s My Boo (orange), and Etude House – #BK801 (textured black with red glitter).

For my four fingers, I started with three coats of Sally Hansen Bamboo Shoot as my base. Then I painted the blood using the Sally Hansen Brick Wall and OPI I Only Date Werewolves. Last I topped them off with a coat of Revlon Super Top Speed 60 Second Top Coat.

For the thumb, first I started with one coat of OPI He’s My Boo and when it completely dried, I made the gradient using Sally Hansen Brick Wall and OPI He’s My Boo with a make up sponge. Then I painted the castle and those big birds using OPI I Only Date Werewolves and a mini stripper (boo hoo, I don’t have any detail brush… yet!). For the land, I used Etude House #BK801. Last I applied top coat to smooth it out.

Hi everyone! My name is Bella from Seize The Nail and I’m very happy to be today’s guest blogger!

This is my Halloween design! First I did a gradient with two orange polishes. The bright orange is “Amnesia” by Motives Lacquers and the dark orange is “My Paprika is Hotter Than Yours” by OPI. I’m all into patterns and silhouettes lately and I decided to do a bat pattern with black acrylic paint. I finished the design with the top coat that currently is my favorite, “Glossy Glam” by Rica.
Black and orange, two colors perfect for Halloween! I looked at my nails and felt satisfied.. It looks like¬†a flock¬†of bats¬†just woke up¬†at dusk,¬†flapping and¬†flying out¬†in the sunset.¬†Suddenly the colors reminded me of something in my wardrobe. I opened my wardrobe and picked out a dress that perfectly matches my nails! Hallelujah! I’m ready to party! In some of the pictures you see my orange and black striped dress!

Thanks again Bella! I love the gradient- it’s flawless!! I love how it matched your dress too!

I think I may even recreate this for myself soon! ūüėÄ

Say Goodbye to a Sober Day with some clowns

*Purchased By Me

Hey dears, apologies for such a long absence…I’m popping in a quick blog post before I head back to doing school work! Most of my assignments are due next week so it’s a rush D: However, I’ve managed to get some swatching and nail art done(yay!) so this blog can be kept alive hehe.~

I initially did this combination for a pair of earrings for our shop, Little Rain Designs (which will be listed soon) and liked the look. I thus decided to recreate it on my nails!

Here I have 2 coats of¬†Docile D218¬†with 1 and a half (dabbed) coats of¬†Gloss ‘n Sparkle Goodbye Sober Day.¬†The base polish is this shimmering silver, and I picked it up in¬†Sasa,¬†which I guess can be considered a drugstore with a section of cheap polishes. I’ve honestly never heard of the brand before but the packaging and colours looked nice- and it was on a promotion of buy 2 get 1 free- so obviously I couldn’t resist. ūüėÄ

Goodbye Sober Day¬†reminded me so much of clowns that’s why I decided to pair the entire thing with a clown for my accent nail.¬†Love.

Honestly I’m not a huge fan of clowns myself…but I guess movies do that for you: taking an innocent childhood symbol and creating it into something creepy. :S

I’m not a fan of horror movies at all though so I’m not sure why I feel this way.

Anyhoo~¬†The way¬†Docile D218¬†sparkles and shimmers is simply beautiful. It’s a nice polish to go-to if I’m feeling more “toned down”. Also, please forgive the difference in nail lengths…my index nail was flaking so I chopped it off to be much shorter than its fellow buddies.
